In The Studio: Darian

VEGAS.
Got back from my Vegas trip a couple days ago and what can I say, one of the best times of my life. With all the working and preparing I've been doing over the summer this Vegas trip was much needed. Pool parties, clubs, gambling, etc. It was great but I honestly couldn't spend another day there, lol. Three days in a row is more than enough for me. Unfortunately I didn't do too much shooting because my excitement level was on a thousand. We stayed at The Venetian and the architecture there was beautiful. I told myself I was going to dedicate a day of shooting and site seeing while I was there, but clearly that didn't happen. Next I time I go (which may be sooner than later) I'm going to make sure I get a lot more shooting done. Now it's back to Detroit and back to the grind. Until next time Vegas...
In The Studio: Camille
My friend Camille came to the studio last week. While shooting we talked about various subjects and issues including art, music, and politics. She is co-founder of www.blackbottomarchives.com, an online magazine that curates and creates artistic, historical, photographic and journalistic works that reflect the unique and transformative history of Black Detroiters. Be on the look out for continuos content and events from Camille and Black Bottom.
The Other Day.
The other day me and Hayden went downtown to catch the city during the golden hour. Climbed a few rooftops and got some long exposure shots too as we shot through the night. We were out there for a good three hours. Good times and even better photos.
Born Day.
I had to have my mom be one of the first to grace my studio space. Today's her birthday and she's getting younger with age. Got a lot to smile about. Happy birthday mom!
Phase One: MILHOUSE STUDIO
I've been working on my creative space for some time now. Being patient with the process and keeping positive energy has got me though phase one. More work to be done, but I'm grateful and humbled to have my own studio/creative space. I appreciate all who have been by my side even when I would go m.i.a for periods of time. This is just the beginning of something great for the city of Detroit. Excited for you all to see what I have in store when the time is right.
In The Studio: Alex
A few days ago while setting up my studio space I took some test shots with Alex. Luckily she was around for me to snap a few photos to test out the light. It's been a journey getting this studio together. A lot of time and patience as gone into it, oh and money lol. But its almost compete to my satisfaction. I'll be starting new posts in the future entitled "In The Studio" which will showcase some of my favorite studio shots with clients.
Around The Way: Key Wane
Last week me and my bro Key Wane went around Detroit to take some photos. We kicked it talked about the current state of music, and his future plans. Wane has produced for some big names in the music industry including Beyonce, Big Sean, Drake, Ariana Grande, Wale and Jazmine Sullivan to name a few. Its good to see my bro accomplish his goals, and he continues to stay true to himself and humble. I expect even more great work in the future, can't wait!
