In The Studio: Jessica Nambowa

I met Jessica back in 2012 through a mutual friend, and lets just say she's hard to keep up with. A Detroit native who is the definition of a world travel. I can't even count how many countries she's been to since I've met her, but she's been to a total of 58 countries! So I was lucky to get a studio session with her during her layover in Detroit. You can keep up with all of Jessica's travels through her blog www.thecatchmeifyoucan.com. She documents her travels through photography and writing, and even has a store where you can buy items she's collected all over the world including her photography. Hopefully I can catch her again next time she's in Detroit.

Around The Way: TimsWhenItsWarm

My brother Tims just recently moved back the Detroit to gain more exposure with his music. I've been knowing Tims for a while now. We both went to college together at Alabama A&M University. He's getting ready to drop a new project soon but in meantime check out previous musical projects here. Also be on the look out for a video we are shooting very soon for "Don't Interrupt Me"

Cara & Marlon

I had the honor of shooting Cara & Marlon's wedding a few weeks back along with my friend China. The ceremony was beautiful and went really well, and in a timely manner. I don't shoot many weddings but when I do it's always a good time. Especially when you can tell the bride and groom are truly happy and nervous about the big day.

We arrived a few hours early to scope out the place and capture shots of the bride and groom getting ready. China handled the bride's photos while I patiently for the groomsmen to arrive. When the groomsmen finally arrived I got photos of them getting dressed and down in the bar area they had set up for them. After that it was show time. The outside wedding was perfect for the fall weather and colors made for even better photos. Thank you Cara & Marlon for allowing me to photograph your day.

In The Studio: Amelia

A couple weeks ago Amelia came through the studio. She's an awesome hairstylist located in Birmingham, MI. Amelia was really easy to work with and funny too. We shot two outfits, the second one was my favorite. It gave of that "off work, but still sexy" vibe lol. I can't wait to work with Amelia again in the near future.

PARADISE FOUND.

Big Sean’s “Finding Paradise” show at the Joe Louis Arena last Friday was amazing to say the least. He brought out so many artists to perform including Dej Loaf, Lil Wayne, Danny Brown and Eminem! I was able to get a backstage pass, so I was in a really good position to capture the show until security told me stay in one place lol. The show from beginning to end was full of energy, not one dull moment. Big Sean performed all his hits from his albums and mixtapes. The highlight of the show was the “Detroit VS Everybody” performance and I almost lost it when Eminem came from under the stage. Growing up Eminem was my favorite rapper, so it was dope that I was able to shoot him performing. The show was so good I didn’t want it to end. After the show, I went backstage and was able to get photo with Jhene Aiko which was the perfect way to cap off an amazing night!

In the Studio: Omni & Raja

My cousin Omni called me and said she wanted to get some photos of her and her daughter before they made the permanent move to Atlanta. I was all for it and excited to shoot my little cousin Raja. She was great to work with and really got into the shoot, especially with the help of her mom. Its moments like these that make me truly appreciate what I do. Capturing moments that will stand the test of time. Good luck to my cousins on their new move, and I’ll be visiting soon!

High Snobiety: Meet The Muse

High Snobiety's "Meet The Muse" segment interviewed Ryan Destiny. They used the photos from our photoshoot for the post. Its a big deal for me because I frequently visit www.highsnobeity.com and really admire the photography they post on their site. Humbled that my photos were chosen, hopefully this isn't the last time my work will be on the site. Check the full interview and photos here

Who Got The Camera?

I was listening to Ice Cube's "Who Got The Camera?" track and decided that for this Halloween I'm going as him, but people say I look more like Eazy-E lol. I'll just say I'm the sixth member of NWA haha. Happy Halloween!

Around The Way: Ryan Destiny

A couple months ago me and Ryan went around the city shoot some photos. She's been making moves lately from her rising singing career and starring alongside Megan Good in "A Girl Like Grace" Ryan has a bright future ahead of her and I excited to see her growth.

Around The Way: Tony Rave

Last month I had the opportunity to capture my bro Tony Rave creating art pieces for his show at the Red Bull House Of Arts. After all the hard work and dedication he’ll be showing off his work alongside 10 other artists tonight in Eastern Market. Make sure you stop by for the opening ceremony which starts at 7 and goes on until 11.
